WELCOME

The Rainbow Occasional Teacher Local represents over 300 Elementary Occasional Teachers employed by the Rainbow District School Board.

We teach all elementary grades and subjects. Our assignments may be as short as half a day or as long as one year.

The Occasional Teachers in our Local are all qualified, certified professional teachers who teach in the absence of our regular teacher colleagues. We come from varied backgrounds including:

 

• career occasional teachers who prefer the flexibility of part time employment
• seasoned retired teachers who still enjoy teaching and agree to work as the need arises
• teachers who, for a variety of reasons, are looking for daily or long term placements.
